Mobogenie virus

What type of infection are we dealing with when talking about Mobogenie virus?

Mobogenie virus is a Beijing Yang Fan Jing He Information Consulting Co. program that uses monetization programs like OpenCandy, Conduit, or Quick Downloader bundled with third-party installers. Its main use is to transfer pictures, videos, and other types of data between your phone and computer. Typically it is an unwanted program, assumed by most users to be a virus, since they don’t know where it came from.

Danger Level: Moderate

What negative effects will you see with Mobogenie virus
The executable file for Mobogenie is named “mobogenie.exe.” The program creates a Windows startup registration point during setup. This allows it to start up automatically when the PC is booted up. Windows Task Scheduler also schedules the program to open at various scheduled times, though the exact schedule varies. The software also adds a Windows Firewall exception, which allows it to connect to the Internet without interference.

Browser and Operating system vulnerability

Internet Explorer, Google Chrome and Mozilla Firefox are all vulnerable to infection by the Mobogenie virus. Windows XP, Vista, 7, 8, and Professinal are operating systems that can and have been effected by this adware both by talking to infected users and testing within our labs.

How did I get the Mobogenie virus infection

Mobogenie is bundled with certain other free programs, so when you install one of those, Mobogenie is added as well. This is one reason it is important to pay attention to the software installation process, rather than just clicking “Next” or “OK” every time. Many installation include extra programs that you can install optionally, such as the Mobogenie adware program. Read the installation instructions whenever putting any new software on your computer so you can choose exactly what software is installed and what is not.

Intel

How Intel Got Its Name    Intel was founded in 1968 by two ex-Fairchild Semiconductor employees, Gordon E. Moore and Robert N. Noyce. The company was originally called "N M Electronics." Legend has it, their preferred name — "Moore Noyce Electronics" — sounded too similar to "more noise," not a great brand message in that industry. "Integrated Electronics" was considered as a possible name, but was taken, so the first syllables of each word were used instead. "Intel," described by Noyce as "sort of sexy," was eventually agreed upon. The pair then purchased the "Intel" trademark from the Intelco hotel chain for just $15,000. Intel Once Made Watches  In 1972, Intel moved into the jewelry market with the acquisition of digital watch maker Microma. At the time, digital watches were considered seriously high-tech, selling for hundreds of dollars, so the move was not a surprising one. The antici...
